Helena Volkening, 80, formerly of 455 Franklin Blv., Elgin, died Monday in Four Seasons Nursing Home, Elgin.

Born Octo. 10, 1898, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Michael and Ctherine Hoffman Seyller and had lived in Elgin for the past 40 years.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Elgin.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. George (Deloris) Jenny of Burlington; three sons, Edwin Jr. of Alton, Marlowe of Elgin and Delbert of Genoa; a sister, Mrs. Emma Stout of Burlington, and seven grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Sr., in 1966; three sisters and seven brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Stout Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Robert F. Jaeger officiating. Burial will be in Lake Street Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today and Wednesday until time of services in the funeral home.

Ommission of flowers is requested, with memorials to the charity of one's choice.
