Obit of Dr. David Culver Teeple
"We see by the Delta Avalanche of this week that Dr. D. C. Teeple died of consumption at that place, March 8th, aged 53 years. Dr. Teeple was formerly a resident of Clarksville, Defiance Co., and was engaged in the practice of medicine with Dr. Ladd. In the fall of 1857 he was married to Mary M. Bratton, and shortly afterward moved to California. His wife died in July, 1862. A year later he married Miss Phebe Tower of Tuscarawas Co., Ohio. He settled in Delta about nine years ago, since which time he has been engaged in the banking business."

The Bank of Delta was founded in 1868 by Dr. William Ramsey and David C. Teeple, the former eventually becoming the sole owner of the institution.
