Obituary from the Iola Register, Friday march 27, 1891, Iola, Kansas, Pg. 4, film 3:

"Mima Patterson:
Died at ther home in Allen County, March 12, 1891, Mima, wife of John S. Patterson, aged 56 ur. 9 mo. 6 days.

Mima Tuttle Teeple was born in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio June 6, 1834. She was married in 1862 and leaves a husband and six children. At the age of seventeen she united with the Christian church and was a consistent member during her life. After her marriage she attended the United Brethern church, of which her husband was a member and for seventeen years taught the Bible class in U. B. Sabbath school, at Strasburg, Ohio.

When she moved to Kansas, in 1878, her class presented her with several testimonials of their regard, one being a handsome dress which she always kept in memory of her beloved scholars, and which was, by her own request, used for her burial robe.

Mrs. Patterson was a refined and intelligent woman, a faithful wife and a devoted mother. She was much beloved by her neighbors, who regret her loss and extend their loving sympathy to her family. She was taken sick October 12, and for the past five months has borne her sufferings and the slow but certain approach of death with characteristic meekness and patience. She selected the verse found in 2 Tim. 4, 7. for her funeral text. Her last thoughts were for her dear family - her last words spoken to her son Ernest: "Ernie, Ernie take care of Birdie," (the youngest daughter.) Then in a moment she passed to the "realm of peace." M.S. Henderson."
