Bowman - Mrs. Simmie Louise Patrick McAlhany, 79, of Bowman, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at the Orangeburg Nursing Home. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18 at Bowman First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dean Fox officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery in Dorange.
She was born Jan. 28, 1924, in Orangeburg County, the daughter of the late John F. Patrick and the late Rhodie Austin Patrick. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bowman and a member of Julia Mae Buck Circle, the Esther Sunday School Class and Bowman First Baptist Ladies Prayer.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Clinton F. and Patricia McAlhany of Branchville, Samuel S. and Lisa McAlhany of Bowman; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Monroe Davis of Bowman; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Patrick of Bowman, Herbert Patrick of Orangeburg; four sisters, Georgia Irick of Orangeburg, Lee Wilgus of Charleston, Lula Mae Spurrier Ruth of Charlotte, N.C., Johnnie Rawls of Atlanta, Ga.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bowman First Baptist Church, 6605 Charleston Hwy., Bowman SC 29018.
