A resident of Centreville, Miss., she died at 7:05 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009, at her home. She was 83, born Jan. 24, 1926, in Gloster, Miss.

Visiting at Newman Funeral Home in Centreville on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at Centreville United Methodist Church, Centreville, on Monday, April 6, from 1 p.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Kevin Trantham. Interment in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Survived by two sons, Bill Bankston and wife Susan, and Bob Bankston and wife Diane, all of Centreville; three sisters, Marceline Hawkins, of Natchez, Miss., Evelyn Nelson, of Gloster, and Ruby Betz, of Hammond; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Max Bankston; parents, Fred and Clara Betz; and a sister, Lucille Harrington.

Pallbearers will be Billy Bankston, Brandon Ford, Matthew Netterville, Mac McDaniel, Dustin Holmes and Richard Flaccomio.

She attended Centreville United Methodist Church.
