Died about 11 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1974, at Glenburney Nursing Home, Natchez, Miss. He was 78, a native of Amite County, Miss., and resident of Rt. 2, Gloster, Miss.

Body at Brown's Funeral home, Gloster, Miss., with religious services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, Brother Weldon and Brother B.F. Smpson [sic Simpson] officiating. Burial in Roseland Cemetery, Gloster.

Survived by his wife, Mrs. Nina Betz; four daughters, Mrs. Marceline Hawkins, Mrs. Ruby Walsh and Mrs. Evelyn Nelson, all of Natchez, Mrs. Colice Bankston, Centreville, Miss.; a sister, Mrs. Madiell Ziegler [sic Maidell Zeigler], Tallulah; a brother, Julian Betz, Dunedin, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Methodist faith.
