Ruby Virginia Betz Walsh, 87, of Gloster, died Oct. 13, 2009, at Landmark Nursing Home in Hammond, La.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster then 10 a.m. Friday until services there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jim Talbert will officiate, and burial will be in Roseland Cemetery in Gloster.

Mrs. Walsh was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Gloster, to Fred and Clare Lee Byrd Betz.

She was owner and operator of the Flower House Etc. in Gloster. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Walsh was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James S. Talbert; second husband, L.L. Tyson; third husband, Dr. Joe Walsh; and two sisters, Lucille Harrington and Colice Bankston.

Survivors include a son, James Louis "Jim" Talbert and wife Pat of Summit; three grandsons and their wives, Garry and Tracie Talbert and Darryl and Susan Jones, all of Watson, La., and Scott and Nan Talbert of League City, Texas; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jackie and Ronnie Scivicque of Christiana, Tenn., and Heather and Mike Scallon of Prairieville, La.; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn "Blackie" Ros of Gloster and Marceline Hawkins of Natchez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
