Death of Mrs. Sarah Julia Tevis
Mrs. Sarah Julia Tevis, widow of the late D.W.B. Tevis, a life long resident of this city, died at 9 o'clock Sunday morning at her home in Kansas City, after a few days illness of paralysis. She was stricken Thursday morning at 10 o'clock.
Mrs. Tevis was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William B. Waddell, and was born in this city June 6, 1841. She lived in Lexington until November, 1911, when she moved to Kansas City. Mr. Tevis died February 5, 1905.
Mrs. Tevis is survived by one son, Irving; one daughter, Mrs. Chas. M. Williams, both of Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Chapman, Kansas City, and Mrs. Alice W. Slayback, St. Louis.
The body was brought to Lexington for burial. The funeral was held at the Baptist church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. G. Garland Riggan conducted the services.
The body was accompanied to Lexington by Mrs. and Mrs. Irving Tevis, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. M. Williams, Mrs. Dorothy Waddell Russell, Mrs. Robt.
Durnham, all of Kansas City, and Mrs. George W. Chapman of Independence.
