He was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Arkansas, the son of Orvin Raymon and Lelia Jewell Johnston Rapert.
He lived most of his life in Mississippi County. He was an officer with the Missouri State Highway Patrol for 30 years before retiring in 1991. He also served with the Missouri National Guard for several years.
He married Maria Bryant Lanners on Feb. 24, 1962. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Joseph Aaron Rapert; a daughter, Andria Claire Rapert; a brother, Aaron E. Rapert; five sisters, Geraldine Thomason, Essie Louise Phillips, Martha Lee Hollis, Virginia Cox and Teresa Biasi; and two grandsons.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Home. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
