Cause of Death Part 1. immediate cause Hypostatic Pneumonia Due to senility Due to arteriosclerosis (hardening of the artery) Part 2. decubitus ulcer Attending Physician was DO Daniel Skerick of Lynnville

Rufus and Ella first met at Church in 1885. Later married and made their home in Fort Branch and Kings Station, Indiana when they first married. Rufus and Arthur Austin were owners of Austin Brother's Garage in Fort Branch, Indiana. They were the authorized dealers for Lincoln, Ford, and Fordson. Rufus worked in a mill at Kings Station before it burned down. Their son Virgle moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri to work for the International shoe Company. The rest of the family moved to Cape Girardeau in 1917. Rufus worked as an auto mechanic for the Chrysler Dealer and Ford Groves the Ford Dealer in Cape and in later years worked in a machine shop. He also always had a shop at home where he made woodworking tools and tools for sharping lawnmowers and saws. Some things he made of wood are still around today and will be for years to come. Paul D. and Helen Austin have a Fern Stand made by Rufus circa 1937, daughter Susan has refinished it and put her claim on it next. Rufus and Ella were members of the Assembly of God Church. Located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

After Ella died in 1956 the family took Rufus to the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri to live Then in 1960 he went to live with his brother Fred Austin near Lynnville, Indiana

RUFUS F. AUSTIN, 91, died Monday afternoon at the home of his brother, Fred Austin Route 2 Lynnville.
Also surviving is a son, Paul of Jasper Tennessee; a daughter
Mrs. Celesta Middleton of Miamisburg Ohio; three brothers, Clarence of Boonville; Authur of Oakland City; and Charley of Lamar, Colorado.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pemberton Funeral Home in
Lynnville. With burial on 17 September 1964 at Walnut Hill Cemetery at Fort Branch, Indiana the son of Horace Sanford and Abbie (White) Austin.
