Born May 12, 1913 in Arcadia, he was a son of the late Mervin and Viola Bash Burkey.
Mr. Burkey had been residing with Mrs. Bess Trimble at the time of his death. He had previously been employed as a machine operator by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways.
Survivors include two sisters: Mrs. Blair (Twila) Ramer, Apollo R.D., and Mrs. Richard (Louise) Ramage, Indiana R.D.; two brothers: Bernon Burkey, and James Burkey, Shelocta R.D.; a half-sister, Mrs. John (Ruth) Leasure, Rochester Mills R.D.
Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-10 p.m. Sunday at the H.D. Rairigh Funeral Home, Hillsdale, where services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m., Rev. William Miller, officiating. Interment will be made in the Rowley Cemetery, Hillsdale.
