MRS. NESTOR DEAD – Well Known Woman Answers Call of Her Creator Monday Night – After a residence in this county for the past forty-five years, Mrs. Michael Nestor died at the family home of her son, John in O'Connor precinct Monday night at ten o'clock at the age of seventy-four years. Mrs. Nestor has been connected with the history of Greeley county for the past forty-five years, coming here from Hastings where the family first settled after arriving in Nebraska from the old home in Iowa. She was married to Michael Nestor in Dubuque, Iowa fifty-five years ago. Ten years later, on April 20, 1877, they homesteaded near O'Connor and have continuously resided on the same place until on the 20th of May 1920 when Mr. Nestor died. Since then Mrs. Nestor has made her home with her son John but still on the old homestead. She was the mother of fifteen children, twelve of whom survive her. They are: Mrs. Lottie Smock of Los Angeles, California; Patrick, Mark and Marion Nestor of O'Connor; Lewis Nestor of Rexburg, Idaho; Mrs. Myrtle Ischelberg of Pocatello, Idaho; Mary, Henry and John Nestor and Mrs. Ida Kinney of O'Connor, Mrs. George Kinney of Spalding; Fred Kinney of Grand Island. Three of the children have died. Mrs. Ella Danials died in Omaha three years ago next July and Ed Nestor last August. One child died in infancy. The funeral was held yesterday morning, March 8th at O'Connor from the Church of the Visitation, Rev. Fr. Hayes officiating, and was largely attended. Following were the pallbearers: John O'Gorman, Walter Sawicki, Patrick Merriman, John Noonan, Frank Phelan and Robert Whalen. Emma Davis Nestor:

Angel of Death Beckons to Mrs. Emma Nestor.
One of the Earliest Pioneer Women of Greeley County is a victim of old age.
Mrs. Emma Nestor, widow of the late Micheal Nestor, died at the family home, four miles southeast of O'Connor, at 10:00 o'clock last Monday night. Her death was due to old age.
Mrs. Nestor had been bedfast for three months and in poor health the last few years. She suffered a paralytic stroke 25 years ago and never regained the use of her right hand. Her speech, too, was affected and she was able to say only a few words at a time.
Mrs. Nestor was born in Carbondale, Pa., June 24, 1847, being 74 years old a the time of her death. She moved to Dubuque, IA., with her parents when a small girl. She was married at Dubuque about 55 years ago. The family remained in Dubuque for 10 years, locating in
Adams County, this state. After spending a year in Adams county the family moved to Greeley County. That was 45 years next month. But few families had located in this county at the time. There was no Greeley nor O'Connor. Grand Island and Genoa were the market towns
for the community. Even St. Paul was not in existence when the Nestor's homsteaded here.
The deceased was a mother if 15 children. Twelve of these survive her. They are Mrs. Sam Smock, Los Angeles, Cal. ; Mrs. Pat Nealon, O'Connor ; Lawrence Nestor, O'Connor; Marion Nestor, O'Connor ; Mrs. A. E. Achelberger, Pocatello, Idaho ; Louis Nestor ; Rexburg, Idaho ;
Henry Nestor, O'Conner ; Fred Nestor, Grand Island ; Mrs. Joe Kinney, O'Conner ; Mrs. George Kinney, Spaulding, Miss Mary Nestor, O'Conner ; John Nestor, O'Conner. Ed Nestor of Logan precinct died last August. Mrs. Ed Daniels of Omaha died three years ago. Another son died in infancy. The husband of the deceased died two years ago.
The funeral was held at O'Conner yesterday morning. The big church was taxed far beyond it's seating capacity. Father Hayes conducted the funeral services. Burial was at O'Conner.
The pallbearers were John O'Gorman, Pat Merriman, Walter Sawicki, John Noonan, Robert Whalen, and Frank Phelan.
The deceased was one of the grand old pioneer women. She was beloved and honored by all her neighbors and had a host of warm friends in this community.
