Sylvia Carlson, 91, a resident of Gonvick, Minn., died Dec. 5, 2010, at a local care facility in The Dalles.
She was born April 1, 1919, in Gully, Minn., to Ole and Inga Buer.
She married Kenneth Carlson on Aug. 15, 1945, after which she sold their Clearbrook property and moved to rural Gonvick.
She worked as an LPN in the Clearwater clinic for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing and gardening, especially her flowers. She also loved playing her accordion and her guitar while singing her favorite cowboy songs.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia and her husband Neil Pattee, Grass Valley; her grandchildren, Holly Cnossen and her children Makenna and Michael, David Cnossen and his wife Angel and their children Cyera, Quinten and Aleigyha; her sisters-in-law, Zona Buer and Linda Moldon, Lorraine and Jim Baugh, Mary and Leif Sather, Paul Buer, Sonjia Buer, Frank and Margi Buer, many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth on March 10, 1973, her parents, her brothers, Manley, Peter, Lawrence and Wilfred Buer; her sisters, Ellen Wood and Ann Goldbloom.
A celebration of life will be Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Grass Valley.
