Lawrence Buer 1929-2003

Lawrence Buer, 74, died on Sunday, October 12, 2003 at his home near Gonvick.
He was born June 12, 1929 at Gonvick the son of Ole and Inga (Furuseth) Buer. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Lawrence attended the Wolden School and Gonvick Public School. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. His life was spent farming. He enjoyed haying, combining, gardening, feeding deer and birds, and spending time with his cats.
At home he often spoke Norwegian and was proud of his heritage. He liked to joke and make other laugh.
Lawrence is survived by his two sisters, Ann Goldbloom and Sylvia Carlson, both of Gonvick; and a sister in law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his four brothers, Manley, Peter, Olaf, and Wilfred; a sister, Ellen Wood and two infant sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick, with the Reverend Eric Midthun officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:30-2:00p.m. at the church.
Interment will be at the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Gonvick. Flag presentation will be by the Gonvick American Legion Post.
The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
