Joyce M. Brooke, 77, of Midwest City, Okla., aka Mom and Grammy, passed away with her family by her side on October 7, 2011 losing a short battle with brain cancer.

Joyce was a preacher's daughter and grew up in Kansas, graduating from Great Bend High School. She attended college at York College in York, Nebraska where she met her loving husband of 57 years, Dick Brooke, son of Alice and Laverne Brooke of York and brother of Barbara and Chuck Kaiser.

Joyce was a gifted pianist and organist. She served as organist of the First Presbyterian Church in Midwest City for 35 years. She was strong in her faith and loved her family and friends. She and Dick have one daughter, Barby, who was her pride and joy. Joyce was engaged in church and every Friday for 30 years, she cooked mobile meals. Joyce adored her PEO Chapter FF sisters and was active in that chapter for more than 40 years. She loved music, had a great sense of humor and always had a loving thought and kind word for everyone. Her favorite thing to do was watch her special grandsons, Kavan and Kaden, play sports.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved granddaughter, Kylie Brooke Jobe. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.

Graveside service was at Greenwood Cemetery, York, NE.
