Excerpt -- Charged with involuntary manslaughter and driving while under the influence of liquor, Hervey Moats, of Erwin, following a wreck on Rt. 50 near Erwin Sunday in which his brother, Mack Moats, 58, was killed. Another passenger in the car, Luther Moats, is also in the county jail for drunkenness. Mack Moats,the occupant killed, was married and the father of several children. The manslaughter charge against Moats will likely be heard before the June term of the grand jury.
