Martha (Delperdang) Bunkers was born on Monday, November 13, 1905, at the Delperdang farm home north of Remsen, IA, the daughter of Anton and Catherine (Sudtelgte) Delperdang.

On Tuesday, June 4, 1929, Martha married Ulrich Bunkers at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen.

Martha attended St. Mary's Academy in Alton, IA, and St. Mary's Catholic School in Remsen.

Martha was a lifetime Catholic and a member of Remsen St. Mary's Church until 1944, when she and Ulrich moved to Sioux City, IA. After that he was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Confraternity. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a lifetime member of Marian Health Center Volunteers.

Martha and Ulrich had no children.

Martha, 89 years old, died on Saturday, April 29, 1995, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City; Martha had been a resident of the nursing home since 1988. Following an 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass said by Father Donald Slaven, chaplain, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 2, she was buried at Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City.
