Annis[her given name was Annes] was five years old when she made the six-week voyage to America with her family. They left Liverpool to NY.NY.on the ship named ENVOY 7~June~1830 and settled in Jackson Co.Ohio.
Annis remained single her entire life, living with her parents until their deaths. She must have been a strong, determined woman for she managed to travel and own property in her own name in an era when it was difficult for a single woman to accomplish such things. She left Missouri sometime between 1864 and 1869 for tax evasion.
Annis died in April 1883 in Jackson County,Ohio at 58 years of age. No record found regarding her burial. We believe, however, that since the Dixon Run Cemetery is located just across the road from where the home place was located and in all probability the property for the cemetery was donated by her father Arthur, Annis was buried in an unmarked grave near her father and brother.
