At the age of 19, Mary married Samuel N. Henry on 31 January 1877 in Clarence, Shelby County, Missouri. On 2 March 1880, she married Green Lear Paris at the residence of James Ray in Jefferson Township, Shelby County, Missouri.

Her 1880 census is with Green Lear Paris and her son (his stepson) Joseph Henry. The 1900 census indicates she had 10 children born, 8 living; this census lists 7 children, including Joseph Henry, from her first marriage.

The 1910 census indicates 12 children born, 9 living (shown below). Since a new daughter was shown on the 1910 census, it appears she may have lost (before or after birth) two children between before 1900 (perhaps with her first husband) and another two between 1900 and 1910.
