Dr. Andrew David Bridges, 93, of Gashland, formally of Portland, died December 26, 1948 at the home of his daughter. Cause of death documented was Heart Failure due to Cardiac Decompensation. Informant was Mrs. Roy Ewen of 6423 East 15th Street Terrace, Kansas City.

Dr. Bridges was born March 10, 1855, in Portland, the son of William and Virginia (Snoddy) Bridges. He married Ida Gase and she survives. He was a physician and practiced in Callaway County for over fifty years. He and his wife moved to Kansas City about ten years ago to be closer to three of their daughters.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. M.Z. Blackburn, Mrs. L.B. Malone and Mrs. Margaret Ewen, all of Kansas City and Mrs. Richard Holzheiser of Portland, a son, David Bridges of Fulton, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were under the direction of Stine and McClure of Kansas City. Burial was held in Portland Cemetary in Portland.
