John Hamden Bridges was born 1867 in Franklin County, Missouri to William Bridges and Virginia Snoddy, who both came from Virginia. He lived to be 99 years old, short of 100 by only 9 months.
John became a medical doctor and in 1906 married Elsie Lenora Hull from Clark County, Missouri. The couple lived in Gasconade County, Missouri and had five children -- Virginia, Carl, Edna, Wilber and Lily. In the early 1920s they moved to Polk County, Missouri, and John's wife died there after the birth of Lily. John remained in Bolivar County until his death in 1957.
