Mr. Willie Othar Coats, 68, Russellville, Ala., died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Shoals Hospital. The funeral will be Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home chapel, Russellville, with burial in Franklin Memory Gardens. Officiating at the funeral will be Kenneth Bond. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Coats was a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. He was retired from U.S. Reduction/Wabash Alloys. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Avery K. Coats, Russellville, Ala.; daughter, Barbara Stults and husband, Sammy, Russellville, Ala.; brother, Vernon Coats, Vina, Ala.; sisters, Shellie Scott, Vina, Ala., Hettie Driskell, Missouri, Dot Honeycutt, Red Bay, Ala., Betty Hester, Red Bay, Ala., Dorothy Rollins, Hackleburg, Ala.; granddaughter, Leanne Stephenson; two stepgrandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and host of friends. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be former co-workers of U.S. Reduction/Wabash Alloys. Special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Shoals Hospital. Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
