Ruth Galvin Butler, 65, of 912 1st. Ave. SW, died early Friday morning in a local hospital where she had been a patient the past two weeks.
Born in Butte, she attended grade school there and at the Franklin School in Great Falls, and completed her education at the Ursuline Academy. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary to Post 5590 and St. Jospeh's Parish.
She and Hilary A. Butler were married on Oct. 1, 1930 in Fort Benton. He survives with daughters Mrs. Sidney (Lois) Birdseye, Camarillo, Calif. and Mrs. Cy (Joan) Baker, Great Falls; sons Larry P. Butler, Manchester; Rodney G. Butler, Chester; Francis A. Butler, Anchorage, Alaska; Dale E. Butler, West Covina, Calif.' and Danny Mike Butler, Spokane, Wash.; 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters Mrs. Vernon (Frances) Gleason, Mrs. Clarence (Helen) O'Connell; Mrs. Richard (Connie) Golightly and Mrs. John (Audrey) Cefro, all of Great Falls and Mrs. Rudolph (Bridgie) Jimenez, Long Beach, Calif.; and a brother, Patrick Galvin, Kalispell.
Services will be Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. David Dwyer officiating, followed by burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be Monday at 7 p.m. in the O'Connor Memorial Chapel.
