FOUR- YEAR OLD BOY PACK RIVER DROWNING VICTIM

Stanley Ralph Hunt, Son of Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Hunt, Falls Into Rushing Torrent

Stanley Ralph Hunt, 4 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph H. Hunt of upper Pack River was drowned in the waters of the river late Friday afternoon, a quarter mile from his home. He and a young sister, Dorothy, were playing with a cat and it is assumed that the boy let the cat fall in the river and then tried to rescue it, became over balanced and fell into the spring torrent of the stream. The little girl ran to the house and told her mother that her brother had fallen into the water but it was impossible for anyone to reach the little fellow in time to to save him. His brother, Harold and his father's cousin, Rex Timblin, found the body lodged under a couple of poles at a log landing but a short ways distant from the scene of the accident.
The little boy is survived by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Emery and Herbert; four sisters, Mildred, Mary Jane, Gertrude and Dorothy; and by other relatives in several localities of this section.
The body was brought to the Moon mortuary here and the funeral was held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon; Rev Dr. William Westwood of the Presbyterian church officiating, and interment was made in Lakeview cemetery.
