Loretta Hamilton, 89, passed away Sept. 2, 2017, in Fairbanks.

She was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

She was one of 13 children born to Ralph H. Hunt and Carrie Ellen (Timblin) Hunt.

She attended schools in Bonner County, graduating the eighth grade at the old North Star School, on the Upper Pack River, and graduating Sandpoint High School in 1946.

She married Harry L. Courser in 1948 in Thompson Falls, Montana.

Three children were born to this union: Byron, Shannon and David. Harry passed away in 1961.

She then married Martin Hamilton in 1962.

Two children were born to this union: Mark and Mary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Harold "Hi," Emery, Herburt "Bo," Stanley, Stanford and Gerald; five sisters, Mildred Burford, Mary Jane Joseph, Gertrude Ferguson, Ellen Johnson and Delores Sines; both husbands; daughter, Shannon; and grandson, David Courser Jr.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Forgey, of Connell, Washington; three sons, Byron Courser, Poulson, of Montana; David (Kathy) Courser, of North Dakota; Mark (Sheri) Hamiton, Victor, Montana; one daughter, Mary (J.D.) Ward, of North Pole; and daughter-in-law, Joyce, of Montana.

She is also survived by four stepchildren, 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services to be scheduled at a later date.
