OBITUARY
Henry Powell, 71, died of pneumonia at Bellevue hospital at 1 o'clock this morning. For several months he had been in poor health, spending several weeks at the Mercy hospital in Davenport last spring. He came to Bellevue hospital Wednesday.
Mr. Powell was born in Mifflin county, Pa, July 3, 1855, but moved to Illinois City with his parents at the age of two years. He resided in Muscatine for a number of years, but during the latter years of his life his residence has been in Davenport, where he was employed at a washing machine factory. He retired about a year ago. In the early years of his life he was a telegraph operator.
He is survived by one brother, William Powell of Illinois City; a sister, Mrs. Esther Hayes of Muscatine; two half-brothers. Sherman and John Powell of Illinois City, and one half sister, Miss Maud Powell of Washington, D.C.
The body has been removed to the Wittich Funeral Home where it will remain until the funeral services. Funeral arrangements are not complete.
