Patra M. Thorson Walker passed away at her home in Draper, surrounded by her daughters, on September 15, 2011.

She was born in Aurora, Utah on October 8, 1917 to Joseph Thorson and Sarah May Curtis. She was the second of twelve children.

She married Lorus H. Walker on June 18, 1940 (later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple). They resided in the home they built in Union, Utah for sixty-two years, where they raised their four children.

Later in life, Patra and Lorus enjoyed traveling together. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and had a special love of family and her cat, Trixie.

Patra is survived by her children, Kay (Nancy), Linda (Howard), Sandra (Pam), and Jerry (Michele); four grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley, Aaron, and Ian; six great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph; sisters, Myrna, Nona, Myrt, and Gail. Preceded in death by her husband, Lorus; grandson, Andrew Walker; brothers, Ralph, Grant, and Robert; sisters, Joyce, Karna, and Iona.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates Mortuary (3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South)). There will be a viewing held one hour prior to the services.
Interment at Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery.
