Ella Mae (Sharp) Miller was born in the now ghost town of "Mayer", eighteen miles southeast of Eldorado, in southeastern Schleicher County, Texas on February 23, 1908 to Hiram Edward II and, Alice Gertrude "Allie" (Conner) Sharp. At it's peak in 1914, Mayer had a Post Office, one General Store and a population of 190. Hiram II & Allie Sharp with their six children owned and operated the General Store. Around 1928 Ella Mae met Floyd Jackson (F.J) Miller, and the two married March 8, 1929 in Brady, McCulloch county, Texas. Together they raised three healthy children, Jackie Pauline, Billy Ross "Bunky", and George Edward "Buddy".
F.J. & Ella Mae enjoyed fifty-two years of marriage before her passing April 13, 1981. She was 73 years old.
Ella Mae, was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram II & Allie Sharp, her brother, H.E.III "Edwin", and her daughter Jackie Clement of Irving. Ella Mae is survived by her husband F.J. Miller, her sons Bunky and Bud, seven grandchildren and *three great grandchildren. - *as of 1981
