Wesley C. Johanningmeier of Davenport, a former Monona resident, died Thursday morning in St. Luke's Hospital after an extended illness.
Services were Saturday, May 8, at 11 a.m. in the Runge Chapel. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park.
Mr. Johanningmeier was employed by Bendix Aviation Corporation before his retirement.
Wesley Carl was born in Clayton County, Iowa, on May 7, 1891, son of Charles and Sophia Mary Schrader Johanningmeier. He was baptized in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, Iowa, and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, Luana, Iowa.
He married Anna Marie Wiedenmann on December 18, 1912. He had lived in Davenport since 1942.
Mr. Johanningmeier was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one grandchhild, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by one son and four daughters, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four brothers, Alvin, William, Elmer and Arlo.
