WILHELM JOHANNINGMEIER PASSES AWAY

Wilhelm Carl Henry Johanningmeier was born Jan. 20, 1890 to Charles & Mary (nee Schrader) Johanningmeier in Monona Township, Clayton County. He was confirmed on March 27, 1904 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Luana, Iowa. He married Johanna Wagner on Dec. 3, 1914. He farmed most of his life around Monona, and in 1945 he retired to McGregor. There he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He passed away May 24, 1977 at the age of 87 years 4 months and 4 days.

Surviving him are his wife, their children, Lloyd of Edgewood, Carl and Willis of Monona, Maloy of Waukon, Palmer of Waterloo, June (Mrs. Guy Schriver) of Guttenberg and Betty (Mrs. Henry Kleinow) of McGregor, 30 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers, Alvin and Arlo of Monona.


NOTE: Wilhelm "William" was buried May 28, 1977. Services were at St. Paul Lutheran Church, McGregor, Clayton County, Iowa with Pastor Charles Ager officiating.
