Dessie Mae MCKNIGHT daughter of George Washington MCKNIGHT and Elsie Luena HOWELL was united in marriage on 20 Jun 1936 To Jess Carl SANDERS the son of John and Martha (Jarboe) Sanders in Clifty Madison Co Ark.

Dessie was born on 11 Nov 1919 in Venus Arkansas. Dessie passed away Dec. 21, 1981 in Gravette Arkansas at the age of 62 . Dessie was laid to rest in the Butler Creek Cemetery Sulphur Springs Arkansas.

To this union two children were born, a daughter Beverly Jean and a son Larry Dale . The family moved to Sulphur Springs Arkansas area in 1950, where both of their children attended Sulpher Springs School. Although Dessie was basically a housewife she worked at several jobs in the area, including the Wycliff Day Care Center, Gould's Café, Buttrums help yourself laundry and others.

Dessie and her husband Jess were members of the American Legion and Auxillary in Sulphur Springs. Jess and Dessie had many friends and loved music. Her husband Jess played the guitar.
