George Washington McKnight, lifelong resident of Madison county, died at his home here May 8 after several months illness. He was born July 30, 1891, the son of the late Jacob and Mary Sanders McKnight.

Mr. McKnight was converted in a meeting at Marble 28 years ago and lived a Christian life. He was married to the former Miss Elsie Howell who survives.

Survivors other than Mrs. McKnight are two sons, Willard McKnight of the home and Artie McKnight of Kansas; one daughter, Mrs. Dessie Sanders of Gravette; three brothers, Bill McKnight and Jim McKnight of this place and Bob McKnight of Farmington; one sister, Mrs. Rachel Morgan of Alva, Okla, and four grandchildren. One sister, Nancy Jarbo, and a brother, Joe McKnight, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at Witter Friday, May 9 at 4 p.m. Interment was in the Witter cemetery with arrangements by the Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Willie Binam, Tom Berry, Ervin Brandenburg, Carl Phillips, Jack Barron and E. E. Haught.
