Edom Mae was the daughter of Johnny Askew and Susie Mae Brown Askew. She was educated in the Houston County School System. She was a member of Green Grove Baptist Church in Elko, Georgia.

She was married to Willie Rumph on December 11, 1955.

3 Daughters: Cynthia E. Rumph, Irene Smith and Shirley Rumph.
1 Son: Willie Rumph Jr.
Mother: Susie M. Askew.
1 Sister: Essie Mae McWilliam.
7 Brothers: Charlie "C.B." Askew, Johnnie D. Askew Jr, Glein Askew, Richard Askew, Henry Askew, Herman Askew and James Askew.
2 Grandchildren: Diego Smith and Shirmecko L. Rumph.
1 Son-In-Law: Willie James Smith.
2 Devoted Friends: Calvin Whitest and Shannon Simmons.
12 Sisters-In-Law, 6 Brothers-In-Law.

Services were held Saturday, November 28,1987 at 2pm in the Sanctuary of Green Grove Baptist Church in Elko, Georgia with Rev Moses Wright officiating.
