Funeral services have been set for 11 am. Thursday in the United Methodist church in Storm Lake with the Rev Harlan Babcock of Alta officiating. Burial to be in Buena Vista Memorial Park cemetery, Shefert funeral home in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife Wilma; a son J Nick and his wife, Anita of Storm Lake: two brothers George of Pioneer and David of Milo; six sisters: Mrs. Denver Frederick. Mabel Ackerman and Mrs. Ben Ehmen of Storm Lake, Mrs. Maggie Voorde of Rembrandt, Mrs. Alice Zoffka of Schaller, and Mrs. Henry Ehman of Cedar Falls.
Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Wednesday , December 25th, 1974 - John Ackerman was born Aug II, 1911 at Rockwell City, the son of George and Alice Bean Ackerman. During his early years he lived in the Early community later moving to the Rembrandt Truesdale area where he farmed until his death.
On Jan 7, 1929 he was united in marriage to Wilma Lois Sennert. They were the parents of one son, J Nick. He was a member of the Truesdale United Methodist Church.
He died at St Joseph Mercy hospital in Sioux City on Dec 10, 1974, after a short illness. He had reached the age of 63 years.
Surviving are his wife Wilma, his son and daughter-in-law, J Nick and Anita Ackerman of Storm Lake; two brothers: George of Pioneer and David of Milo; six sisters: Mrs. Denver (Ellen) Frederick, Mabel Ackerman and Mrs. Ben (Maude) Ehmen of Storm Lake, Mrs. Maggie Voorde of Rembrandt, Mrs. Alice Zoffka of Schaller, and Mrs. Henry (Rose) Ehman of Cedar Falls.
