Mrs. Bertha May Bittle, 90, widow of the late Emory L. Bittle, 134 North Avenue, Hagerstown, died Thursday at the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
She was born near Myersville and was the daughter of the late Joshua and Mary Elizabeth Leatherman Summers. Also, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Myersville.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Brandenburg, Hagerstown; one son, Richard E. Bittle of Aberdeen; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Hattie Bussard and one brother, Seymour W. Summers, both of Middletown.
Friends may call at the Bittle Funeral Home until services are held Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. William M. Brown will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Paul Cemetery, Myersville. The family requested that flowers be omitted.
