Emory L. Bittle, 86, of 132 North Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday morning at the Washington County Hospital., Hagerstown. He was born near Myersville, son of the late William M. and Catherine Routzahn Bittle, and was a life-long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Myersville.
He was a retired Potomac Edison employee and had started to work for them in 1899. He worked as a motorman on the old Hagerstown and Frederick Railway.
He retired in 1947 and was a charter member of the Quarter Century club of Potomac Edison Company.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha M. Summers Bittle, one daughter, Mrs. Harry Brandenburg of Hagerstown, one son, Richard E. Bittle of Aberdeen, and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Bittle Funeral Home, Myersville. Funeral services will be held from the Funeral home on Saturday, at 2 p.m.
Burial will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Myersville.
