Betty Jane Czaplewski
Betty Jane Czaplewski, 61, of 841 West Broadway, died Monday (March 30, 1987) at her home.
She was born Nov. 28, 1925 in Wilson Township, Winona County to William and Luella (Hamann) Braatz. A resident of Winona for most of her life, she married Eugene Czaplewski on Oct. 19, 1946 in Winona.
She worked for seven years at Wincraft, retiring because of a disability. She was a member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Steven Czaplewski of Winona; a daughter, Carol Welter of Cresco, Iowa; two grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Braatz of Santa Ana, Calif., and Robert Braatz of Virginia, Minn.; and two sisters, Marian Johnson of Rushford, Minn., and Florence Dionysius of South Beloit, Ill.
Six brothers and three sisters have died.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rev. Oliver H. Lindholm and the Rev. A.L. Mennicke officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
The body has been cremated.
Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew's Lutheran School. The funeral arrangements are being handled by the Fawcett Funeral Home.
