Clarence E. Braatz

Clarence Elroy Braatz, 49, 653 Wilson Street, died this morning at 6:50 at his home.

Retiring in January of 1969 as a shipper for Federal Sunbeam Bakery after suffering a stroke, he was born May 13, 1920, in Wilson Township, Winona County, to William and Luella Hamann Braatz. A World War II Army veteran, he married Esther Boehmke June 21, 1947 at Hart. He was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Leon J. Wetzel Post 9, American Legion, Winona County Old Settlers and American Bakers and Confectioners Union.

Survivors are: his wife; two brothers, Earl, Santa Ana, Calif., and Robert, Winona; and four sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy) Klagge and Mrs. Eugene (Betty) Czaplewski, Winona; Mrs. Arthur (Florence) Dionysius, Beloit, Wis., and Mrs. Earl (Marian) Johnson, Rushford, Minn. Two sisters and five brothers have died.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Martin's Church, the Rev. A.U.Deye, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at Fawcett Funeral Home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church Monday after 1 p.m. A devotional service will be held at the funeral home Sunday at 8:45 p.m.

A memorial is being arranged.
