Gertrude Mae Wanklyn, daughter of William
and Edith Fincham, was born near Blue
Rapids, Kansas on December 28, 1895 and
died May 13, 1970 at her home in Frankfort,
Kansas. Her parents were a pioneer family
of Marshall County, Kansas.

She attended school near Home City, Kansas
and on March 22, 1916 was united in
marriage to Morgan I. Wanklyn in Marysville
Kansas. They spent their married life on their
farm north of Frankfort, before retiring in
Frankfort ten years ago.

Five children were born to this union, Byron
Wanklyn, Home City, Kansas, Harold
Wanklyn, Frankfort, Kansas, Gertrude Taylor,
Winston, Missouri, Helen Padden, Topeka,
Kansas, Nina Pennington, Chanute, Kansas;
16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren
all survive her. She is also survived by a
brother, Victor Fincham, Wichita, Kansas
and two sister, Mrs. Cecil Drinnen, Wichita,
and Mrs. George Wilson, Frankfort, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband,
Morgan; her mother and father, two brothers,
Clayton Fincham and Edwin Fincham and
a sister Myrtle.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church
of Frankfort, Kansas, the Order of Eastern
Star Chapter No. 253, Beattie, Kansas and
the Winifred H.D.U. the Royal Neighbors of
Frankfort and T.A.T. Club. She attended the
Mother's Day service in her church only two
days before her death.

Reverend C.L. Gifford officiated at the service
held in the Presbyterian Church, Saturday,
May 16, 1970 at 10:30 a.m.

June Warren and Fred Padden were soloist
and Alice Burton the organist.

Her grandchildren were casket bearers.

She was buried in the Beattie Union Cemetery
Beattie, Kansas.
