Lonnie L. (Butch) Backherms, 70, Mitchell, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at 11:50 p.m. at Indiana University Health Paoli Hospital. Born Sept. 11, 1940, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Laurel A. and Ada Mae Crone Backherms.
He was retired from Walmart.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley A. Backherms.
Survivors include three brothers, Melvin N. Backherms of Mitchell, Laurel Backherms Jr. of Salem and Dennis K. Backherms of Corydon.
Graveside service: Friday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery west of Corydon. McAdams Mortuary in Paoli is handling arrangements. Officiant: Brother Randy Kirk.
