Shirley A. Backherms, 68, Corydon, died Wednesday evening, March 5, 2008, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born July 27, 1939, in Corydon, she was the daughter of Ada Mae Crone Backherms of Corydon and the late Laurel A. Backherms.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon.
Survivors besides her mother include four brothers, Melvin N. and Lonnie L. Backherms, both of Mitchell, Laurel Backherms Jr. of Salem and Dennis K. Backherms of Corydon.
Visitation: Saturday, March 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 9, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Sunday, March 9, at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Officiant: Father Juan Valdez.
Pallbearers: Paul, Mike and Chad Backherms, Andy Sehr, Kori Pitcock and Brandon Jones.
The family suggests memorial gifts to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
