Eli Kenoyer, Co. D, 21st Missouri, Died Sunday
Eli Kenoyer, resident of Scotland county, and a member of the old 21st Missouri, died at the home of his son, M. O. Kenoyer, at Crawford Station, Sunday night, Jan. 1, 1933.
Eli, son of Samuel and Sarah Kenoyer, was born In Scotland County, Mo., on April 13th, 1841. He was united in marriage with Sahrinda New, Feb. 12, 1860, who preceded him in death Nov. 30, 1909. To this union ten children were born, eight sons and two daughters, three of whom survive, S. F. Kenoyer of Rutledge, Mo., M.O. Kenoyer of Crawford, with whom he made his home and Mrs. S. E. Williams of Los Angeles, Calif. He leaves to mourn his departure besides his children, twenty grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Belle Magagrd [sic] of Hiteman, Iowa, and one brother, Lemuel Kenoyer of Nampa, Cal. He was converted when unite young and lived an earnest Christian life. When the call came to defend his country he enlisted on July 12th, 1861, in Co. D, 21st Mo. Inf. and served three years, four months and twenty days, and was honorably discharged at Chatanooga, Tenn., at the close of the war.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Bethel by Mr. and Mrs. Bud Childress. Burial in Bethel cemetery.
