Ervin Charles Rath, 78, who lived in the Hubbard field southwest of Blackwell, died after a 6-week illness in Blackwell General hospital Saturday at 3 a.m.

Born June 29, 1873 at Buckley, Illinois, Mr. Rath came from Argonia, Kans. to the Jefferson area in 1894, then moved to Major county in 1900.

He had spent some of the years of his life in the Medford and Braman communities before coming here in 1941.

Pending word from relatives, services have been set tentatively for Tuesday at Roberts Funeral home chapel.

Survivors are his wife, Lena of the home: two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie James of Santa Ana, Calif., and Mrs. Etta Breneman of Rocky, Conn., and six sons, Carl and Edward of Blackwell, Cecil of Ponca City, Arthur of Arkansas City, Kans.,Lee of Midland, Texas, and Jack of Parsons, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lillie May Rath-Payne-Bruns, and his daughter, Hattie Neola Rath.

Ervin Charles and Laura Luella Haun were married May 31, 1901, in Alva, Woods County, Oklahoma Territory.
Ervin Charles and Lena M Krapf were married Dec. 30, 1925, in Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma.
