Jessie was born and raised near Shoshone, Idaho. Basque was her first language. She completed the 8th grade then went to work at a Basque Boarding House in Shoshone. She then went to work at a rootbeer stand in Boise for her Uncle Amoto and Aunt Rose Odiaga. At the age of 19, she married Eusebio Anchustegui. Together they bought a farm outside and raised three children by running a sheep business. As it grew, they bought a summer range near Stanley. Jessie made delicious bread (fried bread, her specialty)and cooked for her family and all of the hired men. She moved to Boise in 1958, bought the Apartment house kitty corner from St. John's and ran it for 40 years. She furnished the apartment with treasures from her
