Mrs. Emmatedia Eguren Elorrieta, 81 years old of Jerome, died Friday, February 12, 1971 at a Jerome hospital. She was born March 2, 1889 in Viscaya, Spain and came to America as a child and settled in the Shoshone area. She was married to John Eguren in 1910 in Shoshone. He died in 1928. She was later married to Juan M. Elorrieta and the couple moved to Jerome. Mr. Elorrieta died in 1964. Mrs. Elorrieta was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Eusebio (Jesse) Anchustegui, Boise, and Mrs. Ed (Evelyn) Yragui, Twin Falls; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Clinton (Dolores) Fields and Mrs. George (Felisa) Weigle, both of Jerome; two sons, Joe Eguren and Richard Elorrieta, both of Jerome; two stepsons, Pedro Elorrieta and John Elorrieta, both of Jerome; one brother, Juan Archibald, in Spain; a sister in Boise, Mrs. Rosa Odiaga, and another sister in Spain; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Dorothy Isabel Eguren Buck.

Rosary was recited at the Hove Funeral Chapel, Jerome. The Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Jerome's Catholic Church.
