Herbert Lawrence Anderson, 90, a retired Amoco Oil Company pipeline terminal superintendent, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 1996, at Sioux Valley Hospital.

Mr. Anderson was born Jun 6, 1906, in Valley Springs. He attended school in Rowena.

He married Margarete Bach on Oct. 21, 1933, in Fergus Falls, Minn. He was employed by the Amoco Oil Company as the pipeline terminal superintendent for 38 years in Sioux Falls, retiring in 1968.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Trinity Masonic Lodge, York Rite Bodies, El Riad Shring, Izaak Walton League, Sioux Empire Gem and Mineral Society, Sioux Falls, Sertoma, the Boy Scouts, and the SDRVOA, serving as president in 1976-1977.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his son and two grandchildren.

Services begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Good Samaritan Village Chapel, with burial in the Hills of Rest Memorial Park.

Visitation begins at noon Wednesday at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
