Leaves Wife and Seven Grown Children - Funeral Saturday
James Christian Anderson, 86, died at 7:45 p.m. yesterday at the home of his son, Donald Anderson, near Foxhome. He has been in failing health for the last four months.
Born April 27, 1865, at Lofoten, Norway, Mr. Anderson came to this county with his parents at the age of three years. The family settled in 1868 at Ossian, Iowa.
On March 25, 1907, Mr. Anderson was united in marriage to Martha Loe at Valley Springs, S. D. The Andersons have lived in Wilkin County the past 30 years.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Foxhome Lutheran church. He was beloved by his family and had a large circle of friends. He was always ready to help anyone in need. He was very fond of horses, and took pride in having them look perfect.
Surviving are the wife and the following seven children: Herbert of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Kenneth, Donald, Earl and Mrs. Russell Torkelson (Myrtle), all of the Fox home community; Pearl Anderson of Minneapolis and Mrs. Gordon Paddock (Lorene) of Farmington. Another son, Otis Anderson, died in 1942. There are 18 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Foxhome Lutheran Church on Saturday at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Allen G. Hagstrom officiating.
