Services Wednesday At Foxhome Lutheran Church
Mrs. J. C. Anderson died Saturday at 9:30 p. m. at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Torkelson, southwest of Foxhome. She had been in failing health the past year.
Born April 22, 1881, at Sogn, Norway, Martha Loe was the daughter of Ole and Ragnild Loe. She came to Valley Springs, S. D., when she was 22 and lived there until her marriage to James C. Anderson March 25, 1906.
They homesteaded at Hettinger, N. D., and later returned to Valley Springs. In 1921 they moved to Foxhome and that has been their home since then.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Foxhome Lutheran church. A kind, loving and thoughtful mother she was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She loved flowers and took great pride in her gardening.
Seven children survie. They are Mrs. Russell (Myrtle) Torkelson of Foxhome, Pearl Anderson of Minneapolis, Mrs. Gordon (Lorene) Paddock of Northfield, Herbert of Sioux Falls, S. D., Kenneth and Donald of Foxhome and Earl of Lincoln, Neb. Her husband died Nov. 7, 1951, and a son Otis died Dec. 15, 1942. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, a brother, David Loe of Richey, Mont., and other relatives in Norway.
Funeral services will be held at the Foxhome Lutheran church Wednesday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Allen Hagstrom officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery in Fergus Falls. Friends may call at the Glende-Miller Funeral Home.
