Clyde R Burnham, 79 died May 1, after a brief illness. He was born Nov. 5, 1926,the son of Verrill and Carolyn Tripp Burnham.

He was a 26 year veteran of the Lewiston Fire Department, retiring with the rank of captain. He also worked for the Union Water Co.

He was a veteran of WWII serving 2 years in Japan.

His siblings and family received from him; leadership, guidance, and affection. As part his legacy to his family, he wrote his autobiography and dedicated it to his wife.

He enjoyed swimming, biking, and working with his wife, which included his 3 acre lawn with his John Deere.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Claire; a son Rick and wife Pauline, of Lewiston, four grandchildren; Rebecca of Colorado, Erick of Florida, Jessica and Jonathan of Lewiston, Three great-grandchildren; Stefanie, Darien, and Samuel, a sister; Ruth Gaghan of Augusta, a brother David of Leeds, a great aunt Ruth Tripp and many nieces and nephews.
