Lewiston-David A. Burnham, Sr., 69, a resident of Church Hill Road, Leeds, died Monday, February 15th at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
He was born July 14, 1940 in Leeds, the son of Verrill R. and Carolin (Tripp) Burnham. David attended school in Leeds and was a 1958 graduate of Monmouth Academy. He celebrated his 50th Class Reunion in 2008.
On June 2, 1961, he married Faith Lee Emerson in Gardiner, Maine.
David worked at Livermore Shoe in Livermore Falls, as a machinist for International Paper, Androscoggin Mill in Jay for 23 years, and for the Oak Hill School Department in Wales, for 10 years. David was a member of the Leeds Nazarene Church; he enjoyed cooking and wood working.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Faith Burnham of Leeds; a son, David A. Burnham, Jr. and his companion Linda Tripp of Norway; a sister, Ruth Gaghan of Skowhegan; also several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lena Burnham in 1925, Eunice Burnham in 1946 and a brother, Clyde Burnham in 2006.
